I purchased the Dove & Blue Abalone pick puck expecting the mother-of-pearl dove as shown on the product images and in the description. The abalone is great, but the dove is made of a disappointing plastic material. I would usually let the issue go if I got an explanation from Thalia or if they tried to make it right in any way possible, but instead I got nothing as I emailed support twice with no responses. 2 stars because the function and abalone is still good.
Purchased 24k gold finish for lasting luster - after all Thalia claims to be the beautiful capo - read their story about Thalia thinking Taylor Swift needed a beautiful capo. Only a few months after receipt of my 24k gold capo the finish begins to tarnish. Quote from Thalia after contact regarding the tarnished 24k gold, "We're also very sorry but our warranty only covers mechanical failures...", going on to offer a one time 20% discount on a new purchase. It's beautiful, if you get a good one and it works well as a capo. it's also very large and in the way for many types of playing. You can purchase a similar quality without the premium price. Been buying capos for 50 years and none have finish issues like this new one. Over priced specialty products like this one should offer a replacement, especially when they market their product as being beautiful. Will not recommend to anyone without alerting them to potentially faulty finishes. I fully expect his review to be deleted or rewritten.
I was TRULY impressed with the beautiful supple leather of this strap. Buttery soft and the delicate iridescent Mandala Inlay is enchanting! You will NOT be disappointed with this beautiful work of art!
Looks great on my tailor, easy installation.
The different fret pads. Improves the performance on the different “odd ball”
Guitars I use. Jumbo 12. Short scale Octive 12
Acousticaster. 6 string octave bass. Baritone electric. although I still have issues with jumbo 12 above the 5th fret. No matter what fret pad I use.
Even with the different fret pads, I can’t use it above the 5th on my guild jumbo 12
I only wish it would do a better job above 5 th fret on my Guild 512. And yes I have tried the different fret pads.
Thalia truss rod covers just add a touch of class and distinction to my Taylor guitars
Monster control - I normally max out at 1.14!
The capo isn’t functional. It certainly isn’t quick to apply so I can’t use it live. It also left a dimple on the neck of one of my oldest guitars. It’s pretty. That’s about it.
I got this to keep with a new guitar that has dark sides and back and a carbon fiber top. Like all my other Thalia capos this is fast and true but it really does look good with this new instrument too. Thank you.
I sent an email with no response. I bought mine to use on my '95 Gibson SST Chet Adkins and I cannot get a good fit to prevent buzzing. I eamil requesting feedback or suggestions thinking maybe there was a special pad insert, but got no response at all.
I came across Thalia capos while looking for an aftermarket pick guard. I love unique function and the beauty of my Tennessee Whiskey capo. It’s so sturdy and it’s far more pleasing to look at than my first capo that begins with a K. The color matches the KOA wood color of my Taylor almost perfectly.
…with the Guild F-50 and F-412
A great match for my Takamine nylon… yes, it fits the wider, classical neck. I couldn’t be more satisfied.
As always, your straps are well-made and comfort
Looks great with the Save the Bees pick guard on my Taylor Koa acoustic! I get lots of compliments.
My Mermaid capo is just a stunning piece of art! The way the blues catch the light makes my heart smile. Definitely a purchase I don’t regret.
I bought this as a gift for my wife who plays daily in her job as a board certified music therapist. Guitar is her primary instrument. I liked it so much I ordered an ebony on black chrome for myself.
this is a beautiful grinder, just wish it ground better. Usable but could be better
