The Thalia Capo keeps your guitar in tune better than other capos through Human Touch technology, which is a proprietary silicone blend that exactly mimics the elasticity of the human finger. Human Touch ensures even pressure across the strings and a happy guitar that stays in tune!

Every Thalia Capo comes with:

  • 12” Standard Tension OctaveTouch Fretpad
  • 12” High Tension OctaveTouch Fretpad
  • Quickstart Guide
  • Sticker
  • Capo Pouch

Note: Guitar Pick No Longer Included with Capo

The High Tension Fretpads are 2mm taller than our standard tension fretpads, so these are needed for 12-string guitars, Ukuleles, Banjos and certain guitars with low profile necks.  A complete database of guitars and their radiuses can be found here

Please note that this warranty does not cover misuse, accidental damage or scratches to the metal finish.

One day in 2010 as 8-year old Thalia Bradley was playing guitar, she gazed up at the poster of Taylor Swift on her bedroom wall. Taylor was holding a beautifully inlaid Hawaiian Koa Taylor guitar. As she focused on Taylor's guitar, she had a big idea.

Thalia was using a capo that day, but as she stared at the poster she envisioned a much more beautiful capo for Taylor, one that would perfectly match her Hawaiian Koa Taylor guitar. That was the seed of an idea that would ultimately lead to the invention of the Thalia Capo.

For Thalia's father Chris was an inventor and guitar player and he loved Thalia's idea, but he also thought the capo could be redesigned to make it much easier to use. They went to work and some 70 prototypes and four years later it was ready.

The "reverse action" design of the new Thalia Capo makes it easy to apply with just the fretting hand using the same pinching action as a barre chord. And of course it also features exotic wood and abalone shell inlays, just as Thalia had imagined.

A Great Capo Addition for My Top Ukuleles

I am a fan of Thalia capos, now having seven of them: (1) the pearl name custom that is the subject of this review, with black chrome; (2) Hawaiian Koa Celtic Knot, with black chrome; (3) another Hawaiian Celtic Knot, with black chrome; (4) Green Angel Wing, with 24k gold; (5) Red Angel Wing, with chrome; (6) Teal Angel Wing, with chrome; and (7) Curly Koa, with black chrome. It was nice to have the ability to get one that is personalized with my name. Yes, these are expensive; but they are also very high quality, that add a nice compliment to a high quality instrument (mine are all used on tenor or baritone ukuleles, for which on tenors one should also get the “ukulele sock,” which is a $1.00 small rubber sleeve that fits over the back-of-neck arm to accommodate the narrower neck profile; for baritone ukuleles, the regular “thumb” fits fine).

Nice, eye catching

The first time I used the Thalia capo, I received several positive comments about it's appearance. Being a seasoned musician I do find certain hand angles that make opening the capo when first placing it in the neck challenging. This is most like not a problem for younger guitarists, but for some, be aware. You just need to learn how to deal with it...

Built to last

Thru the years, I like most guitarists have tried many capos and most have not worked the way advertised.
They have been either hard to maneuver or altered the tuning.
The Thalia, I’m happy to say is the exception.
The capo stays in tune up and down the neck and is easily positioned while playing.
I love the look and the manufacturing quality they put in their product.

Green Angel Wing & Gold w/ 12"r Teflon Fretpad: A perfect fit & match for my Emerald Les Paul

I like to choose a Thalia Capo with Fretpad material and radius and plating and inlays to match each of my guitars. Green Angel Wing and Gold go very well with my Emerald Les paul with gold hardware, and the 12"r Teflon Fretpad works with both fretboard bending and 'string-pull' palm-benders on the tailpiece. As with all of my Thalia capos, it performs excellently; they're the best capos made!

Fretboard Radius Guide By Guitar Make & Model

To achieve a perfect fit, the Thalia Capo comes with multiple interchangable fretpads so that you can match the fretboard radius of your specific instrument. The following table lists common fretboard radii used by major manufacturer.  If you do not find your specific brand and model below you can Google your guitar make/model plus the words "fretboard radius"; if that doesn't work you can use the manual method which is described here

Please Note:  12-String & 8-String Guitars should use our High Tension OctaveTouch fretpads to get the best performance.  Standard Tension and High Tension Rubber fretpads are included with every capo.  Our Teflon fretpads will likely not work on instruments with octave strings. size chart guide fret board
